June 10, 1946 letter to Mr. Martin Andersen for his help in saving the men, women, and children starving in Volos, Greece.

At a recent meeting of the handful of Americans of Hellenic extraction a motion was made by Mr. John Camitos [Camichos] seconded and unanimous passed.

The secretary was instructed to send a letter to that good Philhellene and friend to all, Mr. Martin Andersen the Publisher of The Orlando Sentinel-Star expressing our profound admiration and deepest gratitude for the many favors, and the stand which you have taken opening the columns of your papers and in everyway possible help the Orlando drive for food to save the starving men, women, and children of the adopted city of Volos, Greece.

We wish to impress upon you and strongly emphasize the continuing need for this drive at least to Aug. 30th then from Sept. 1st to Nov. 1st. [VIEW page two] the most needed drive for collecting clothing, and shoes for the coming winter.

We wish sir if it is possible for you to see and read some of the letters reaching here daily expressing their needs. Let us not fail them now after all the city that was given to Orlando throughout the nation.

Again Sir we wish to express our sincere appreciation and hoping that you will continue the good work.

We remain respectfully yours.
