Lake Adair – Lake Concord Historic District Marker Event

On October 24, 2023, City of Orlando Commissioner Robert Stuart and College Park Historical Society Board Members unveiled the Lake Adair - Lake Concord District Historical Marker. On October 24, 2023, City of Orlando Commissioner Robert Stuart and College Park Historical Society Board Members unveiled the Lake Adair – Lake Concord District Historical Marker. The marker is located on the grassy plain near Lake Adair and Edgewater Drive. Grace Hagedorn is the author of many of the College Park Neighborhood Association Home Tour histories and is the recipient of the first Outstanding Achievement in Historic Preservation from Orange Preservation Trust Award. Grace Hagedorn and Tana Porter worked to research the historical details and compose the narrative for the Lake Adair – Lake Concord District Historical Marker and the Lake Ivanhoe Marker. Tana Porter is the author of the book, College Park, published by Arcadia Publishing and other historical works.

The historical marker features a map on the reverse side indicating the historic district area.

College Park Historical Society President Bill Jennings addresses the community at the unveiling of the Lake Ivanhoe Residential Historic District Marker Event on October 24, 2023. He gives thanks to District 5 City Commissioner Robert F. Stuart for his support in the project.

On October 24, 2023 City of Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer unveiled The Lake Ivanhoe Residential Historic District Marker with City of Orlando Commissioner Robert Stuart and College Park Historical Society Board Members.

“We are proud to have a permanent place where residents and visitors can learn about the contributions of our community before us and for many future generations to enjoy,” said Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. “The installation of these markers supports our efforts to preserve and celebrate the history of our city and its neighborhoods.”
